Environmental Science is a lab-based course.First we will investigate how the natural systems that make up the environment function. Then we will learn about the many ways the environment provides resources and vital services required to make our way of life possible. We will investigate how man utilizes the environment and study the impact of man's activities. Finally, we will examine our current lifestyle, determine if it is sustainable, explore ways to reduce our global footprint, and how to live in a sustainable manner.
Environmental Science is an interdisciplinary science that draws from both the natural sciences including Life Science, Earth Science and Physical Science and from the social sciences including Geography, Sociology, and Economics.Through this course I hope to introduce you to the ways we rely on the environment, dispel some myths and misconceptions you may have about the environment, and arm you with the information you need to make informed decisions regarding your lifestyle and its impact on the environment.
